All Yosemite Workshops Include Lodging

Yosemite Photo Workshops web site

We have arranged booking for all of 2018 and beyond with a special duplex in the Yosemite West area of Yosemite National Park that will offer each student their own room AND private bath, yet share a common living room, full kitchen, washer-dryer and 10-person dining room where computers can be set up allowing students to compare work, process images, learn and commiserate.  We’ll be able to conduct our post-processing session for the weeklong workshops in the comfort of our duplex unit without having to leave for some other distant meeting room. (We also have a hot tub for our exclusive use!)

This is huge!  Previously, students we left to their own devices to secure lodging making it difficult to participate if signing up late for May or June workshops.  Often students would have to drive for an hour just to join the group daily.

I always want to try things out before incorporating them into the normal offering, so this past February we conducted both the weekend and week long workshops for Horsetail Fall at this duplex and it was a huge hit.  The camaraderie, the conversations, the learning, all was off the scale, yet each student had the ability to enjoy privacy and solitude if they wanted.

The Yosemite West area is outside of the boundary of Yosemite National Park, literally a stone’s throw away in a remote area of Mariposa County at the 6,000 foot elevation in the Sierra National Forest.  In fact, the only way in or out of the development is through the park. There is no hassle with coming and going through the park gates each day; we are in the park!  Did I say remote?  Indeed, as their is no retail whatsoever; the closest grocery store is 30 minutes away, no restaurants, no gift shops at all.  It’s very quiet and the elevation insures that in summer and spring we’ll have comfortable days and very cool nights.  In fact, during winter storms, more than likely we’ll have snow!
